Winter Wandering in NYC
Last weekend Tom joined me on a low-key weekend of eating, drinking, and wandering. Friday we had Upper East Side sushi, followed by Lower East Side drinks with George and Matt at Big Lug, where we were served drinks by the two handsome fellas pictured here.
Saturday involved brunch with Mr. and Mr. -ilicious Morningside Heights at Toast. Yay Toast! Then downtown for a wander through SoHo and the Apple Store, followed by some light shopping on Broadway. Unfortunately that was a Bust, but we headed over to Tom & Jerry's for a drink before dinner at Cafe Habana.
While at dinner, crammed between two other tables-for-two, I managed to touch my eye with hot-sauce on my finger. The flames! Inside of my eye! It buuuurns!!! Miraculously, the girl sitting next to me conjured a bottle of saline solution from her purse and I shamelessly hosed myself down mid-restaurant. Whatcha gonna do when you're trapped at a table? She saved me, and I should have bought her dinner, but I'm poor so a thank-you would have to suffice. Then off to hang with the peeps at Nowhere for Double-Headed Disco, followed by bar hopping around neighborhood.
Sunday, Tom and I met Ed for brunch, then joined the Farmboyz at the Brooklyn Transit Museum. Tom headed back to DC in the afternoon, Ed disappeared, and I strolled Brooklyn Heights with the Farmboyz, had dinner at 5 Front in DUMBO (fantastic, go there!). Afterward I re-met all my peeps at the Dugout for a couple of drinks, and was home fairly early.
One more week of lab rotation..... then back to class.

I love Toast! A friend of mine used to live around the corner from there. Now she lives in Brooklyn, so I barely even step foot into Manhattan anymore. I should though, at least to go back to Toast.
