Hot Sweaty Yankees

YankeeStad20060803.jpgDrunkYankeeFan.jpgBaseball. It's our nation's official pastime, but hardly mine. After being forced to watch endless hours of Braves games as a kid, I'm kind of put off by baseball on TV. I do find it tolerable and sometimes even enjoyable if I'm at a game, and I have beer and hot dogs, and I'm with people I enjoy. And if there's eye candy. This year I've been to TWO MLB games. I went to a National's game with Tom and saw the Cubs lose horribly, and last week during orientation our class was treated to nosebleed seats at a Yankee game. On the hottest day of the year!

It was almost unbearable, and part of our group left at the top of the 4th inning, but D and I stuck things out until the bottom of the 8th when it was clearly a blowout. The stadium seats were scorching hot, but thankfully we brought frozen water bottles to cool things down. It BURNS US!

I toughed it out mostly because the tourist in me wanted to see Yankee Stadium finally. Check that off the list of things to do, along with sweating through every stitch of clothing I was wearing. And not in a fun way. Thank goodnes for Gold Bond. At least I wasn't as foolish as this guy, who decided only halfway through the game to beg some random chick for sunscreen. I guess he was drunk enough that he didn't notice his skin peeling off. Eye candy indeed.
