Mom, it's broken

My poor old TiBook, what a tropper. It was abused by it's former owner, and when handed to me was scratched up and pretty damn ghetto. I treated it kindly, wiped the screen off regularly, shook the crumbs out of the keyboard and generally treated it well. Sure, it has it's quirks, and it's not the speediest racehorse anymore, but it does what I need it to do.

Until last night when I tried to close the screen and put my baby to bed. Something went *crack* and the screen became extra floppy. I figured I could pop whatever it was back into place and things would be fine today once I borrowed some tools from work. Alas, the "titanium" inside the bezel of the screen has cracked and now won't move due to lack of leverage.

I plan to run by TekServe on Friday and see if they can repair it for me, since the LCD still works great, as does the rest of the machine. Here's hoping.

Both my hinges broke, and though I just prop it up instead of getting it fixed, I did find this to be the cheapest place:
